Family time plus Shopping plus Art show plus Culture plus Ghosts

So much stuff has happened this week that it's crazy and I feel so lucky to be kicking it around in life and enjoying it.

I went home last weekend to see my folks and we ended up getting the nieces for a sleepover.
My nieces are really sweet and cool I like to teach them how to make things and draw with them. I don't get to see them very often and often hope there al right growing up without me around them for advice cause I remember how troubled I was growing up. Kids do tire you out though that might just be me getting old though ha ha. We had a movie and craft night and it was a lot of fun Pj's were for the win!

The next day after a fun night with the kids I got to see my sister and she gave me belated birthday cards and it's always lovely to see her. :) My parents fancied a day out in Glasgow so we took a wee trip in and they took me to Yo Sushi. Which is my fav place to eat ever ever ever! Have to give my parents credit since it's not the kinda place or food they really enjoy but they actually tried things this time which was exciting! The food was amazing as always my folks had never seen me eat so enthusiastically and I'm so grateful they took me as I never get to go to a Yo Sushi except around my bday.

We also did some clothes shopping I'm always a sucker for bargains and have not bought any new clothes for myself for a good while. I got both these for three pounds each. I actually love the skirt it flares out and is just the right shape for me and the see through top is so comfy and surprisingly warm!

RIGHT! on to the important stuff I now have my work for sale and show at Bar Ten in Glasgow it's on till February the 16th! This event was made possible by the wonderful Artist's collective 'Any 'And Or'

If any you guys are near Glasgow pop in for a wee while and have a wee drink at the bar and enjoy some art!

It was such an awesome night we didn't get to stay very long but it was so exciting to see my work getting looked at by the public. I get really nervous and scared when I put my work out there and I dunno why. Might be because I'm still getting used to doing that exposing yourself as an artist and your work can be quite a daunting thing. I mean your showing parts of yourself and parts your expressing of your inner most passions, fears and dreams and you've put it down in visual form for all to see it's quite extraordinary.

Then the next day I was off to the beautiful city of Edinburgh to see War horse a dear friend of mine invited me to go with him and we had such a great time. We got to eat at a cute little Cafe right next to the theatre we are going to be doing a puppet project together so he he felt it would be good for me to see.

Oh my it was so beautiful I cried so much I only knew the story of War Horse but was not expecting all the puppetry and effects. It made me so happy to be alive to witness such a beautiful masterpiece I was so lucky to go see it. If you guys like puppets and deep subject matters then please go see it you will love it so much!

Weirdly enough me and a lot of friends have been on the subjects of Ghosts and spirits quite a lot and at my friends yesterday we ended up talking about Ouija boards and ways to contact the dead. This conversation ended up leading us to making one and trying it out.

Now I've never really dabbled in the paranormal I did what most British folk do and settled down once a week at night to watch Most Haunted on the Tele with my parents. I'm quite a logical person and like to think I know better when it comes to tricks and natural occurrences. Even though I have experienced quite a few paranormal things happening to me over time and still have no explanation to them. I used to believe in spirits quite a bit and I guess I still do to a degree but sometimes I think it can just be our own minds or belief's that we want to believe in something beyond so badly.

So I had no idea what I was doing with an Ouija boards when I remembered the day before talking to my Christian friend how I would never do one. But curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a go and it was a really good experience. We apparently made 'contact' with someone and got to ask them lots of interesting questions and we followed all the rules and weren't disrespectful.

How about you guys?
Do you believe in Ghosts or an afterlife? Any weird experiences happened to you?

In other news my poor dog might have to be put down next week and it's hitting me harder than I thought it would. And my depression has been creeping up on me more when I thought it had gone so the last couple of days have been a bit rough.

I hope you guys have a good weekend and I'll need to check out your blogs soon.
Take care

Some Adventures in Edinburgh while visiting home

Hey everyone hope your keeping safe and dry if your in the UK.
It's been about two weeks I was at home visiting my family for the holidays and I did have a great time being able to sleep and eat so much. But now I'm back home in my cosy flat with my lovely to go back to my part time job. Before leaving home I did manage to squeeze in some adventures.

With my folks and my nephew we decided to visit Edinburgh for a day to go to the National Portrait Gallery and visit the Christmas market fair. The city was very beautiful and all the lights made the city look pretty magical which distracted me from noticing the cold had made my toes go bye bye.

Our first stop was the national portrait gallery and it was actually to find a painting of my Great Auntie the Author and Children's book writer Mollie Hunter. I had found out about her a few brief months ago and what an amazing lady she must of been. I always wondered where I got my creative side from since no one else really in our family does the arts but she gave me hope. She sadly passed away in 2012 as a distant relative of my Dad's so unfortunately I didn't get to meet her in person. Maybe will do an art project about her life someday sounds like a plan. It was so exciting to find out about all her history and I've started one of her books just now.

Sadly her painting has been put into storage and has been there this whole time without my Dad or the families knowledge. The Gallery said they swap the paintings around so they would put it back up eventually which I hope we see soon. :)

Despite this we enjoyed the rest of the gallery very much all the paintings are so grand and makes me want to draw and paint again. My parents and nephew really enjoyed it as well and my family don't usually go to much galleries or any creative related things. We also headed on to enjoy the Christmas market and luckily the rain had stopped so I could take some snaps for you guys.

Some tasty soup to warm me up!
We got food at a stand that sold Buffalo burgers which was a bit new to us my mum didn't enjoy it ha ha.

Oh my how magical it all looked and was we only were there for a few hours but it was still a really nice time. Cups of tea were calling us home as we were frozen and the weather had been causing travel problems so we thought better to head home.

Other than that I had spent some time with my lovely and his family and we all sat down to watch the return of Sherlock to Britain. Was not disappointed it's so exciting it's back! Was also to say thank you for all the Christmas gifts they gave me I really did get spoiled by both my families this year so much stuff aaaaaah!

We also took a trip to see Ally's Gran to have lunch in her home and she has the cutest and sweetest house ever. Would love my home to be like hers when I'm older she looks after me like I'm her Grand daughter which is so kind of her. I love her a lot cause I don't have my Gran's around any more so to see Ally's Gran is such a delight. She even called me on Boxing day to thank me so much for the slippers I got her for Christmas was over whelmed by the cuteness.

Was nice to be back home but there's only so much you can do before you need to get back to the real world. I sadly have not had any outfits to post again but I will try to do some more soon. I'll be having a busy weekend since it is my birthday and because of work. I'll keep you guys up to date on the bday celebrations and before I have to go back to university.

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend.
Take care

Christmas and new year reflections

Hey Peeps did you guys have a nice Christmas?
Mines was pretty good family came over, got lots of nice presents and ate lots of food you know the drill! My parents are the Grandparents so it's always been a tradition for everyone to come to ours on Christmas and have a huge Christmas Dinner. My parents put a lot of effort into making the home perfect for everyone. My Mum does usually all the decorating and my dad prepares and makes the Christmas dinner which takes most of Christmas Eve and as well as Christmas day.

Starter!

Main!

Dessert!

After everyone left after all playing the wii together which is another tradition. Me, parents and the lovely sat down to veg all that Christmas dinner and watch Dr Who. Still dunno how to feel about it was interesting ha ha!

Offt been thinking about how the year went a lot in general and wanting to answer or sum it all up as either a good or bad year but it's actually been very difficult. I keep looking at all those question thingys people make and thinking about the answers so I might just try to do one of them to help with that. Don't mind if you would like to do it to would be cool to see your answers. :)

1. What was the single best thing that happened this past year?
That's hard to put into one single thing but it's probably spending time with my family and friends more it's made such a difference. :)
2. What was the single most challenging thing that happened?
Probably having to deal the awful living conditions in my old flat was in and old flat 'mates'. Our flat flooded a few times and we had builders in and out constantly which caused more damage and being woken up at 8 every day. Plus we had to breathe in dust and dirt which cause illness five times. Then the Landlord turned nasty four days before we were supposed to leave when we were good tenants and paid rent all year despite what we were going through.
3. What was an unexpected joy this past year?
Taking my Dad to Poland for his birthday which has been a dream of his and being able to let him experience all its history.
My nephew being allowed to come up to my student town after being banned from seeing him for nearly a year.
Daft punk coming back and being more amazing than ever.
4. What was an unexpected obstacle?
Having my work team and my boss create untrue rumours about me and scare mongering me into stopping an enquiry about bullying with threatening lies.
Finding out my Dog has Cancer.
Depression.
5. Pick three words to describe 2013.
Fast, Social, Human.
6. What were the best books you read this year?
Maus, The Secret Garden, Tales from Watership Down
7. With whom were your most valuable relationships?
My parents, my classmates who are my friends, My nephew, Alistair.
8. What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year?
I stopped being afraid to seek out help and went to see a therapist who told me truths that no one else would.
9. In what way(s) did you grow emotionally?
Emotionally became more stable apart from one mental break down. Sadly have became more numb and accepting of things not changing when they need to. Less expressive creatively and outwardly to others.
10. In what way(s) did you grow spiritually?
Been thinking about religion a lot this year in general and wondering if it could possibly help me. But I know I probably won't ever be able to take the plunge or accept all of a belief full heartly.
11. In what way(s) did you grow physically?
My feet got more deformed since I do walk around so much and noticed the changes in my body from getting older. I'm more confident in how my body is and looks than I have ever been.
12. In what way(s) did you grow in your relationships with others?
A got a lot closer to some of my classmates this year and now I don't know what it was like before I met them. Relationships with my parents get stronger every year. People let me in a lot and show me them selves at their most vulnerable so I grow with nearly every single person I met even if it's a drunken state on a night out.
13. What was your single biggest time waster in your life this past year?
Part time job
Depression
14. What was the best way you used your time this past year?
Spending time and being ridiculous with friends and family.
15. What was the biggest thing you learned this past year?
Doing what is best for myself or others isn't always wrong or shameful. That I need to throw myself into art again.

It's actually been such a crazy year guys I hope next year will be good too. I hope it was good for all you too if you guys do this to let me know :)
Take care
