2014

Kinda want to try to do one of these every year.

1. What was the single best thing that happened this past year?
Guess it was getting work over the summer being paid to actually make art for the first time in my life.

2. What was the single most challenging thing that happened?
Their has been quite a lot but I guess realizing that no matter how much love and kindness you show someone or how much you were always there for them in their lives. They can forget it all instantly and act like everything you ever did meant nothing to them overnight.

3. What was an unexpected joy this past year?
Guess again not expecting something I did artistically would be received well and help others in the process.
That my Sister started speaking to my Mum again.
That I didn’t have cancer.

4. What was an unexpected obstacle?
My dog dying.
Caring and feeling to much.
Not caring or feeling enough.
My shyness.
Fearing for my safety and rights because I am female.
Having my yearly mental breakdown usually during winter months.

5. Pick three words to describe 2014.
Surprising,breathing,loss.

6. What were the best books you read this year?
Wonder by R.J.Palacio, How to be a woman by Caitlin Moran, and currently reading The art of asking by Amanda Palmer which I already know will be a fave.

7. With whom were your most valuable relationships?
My parents, My friends, My Nephew, Alistair.

8. What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year?
Seeing how capable and strong I can really be when it comes to university work and when the people I love hurt me.

9. In what way(s) did you grow emotionally?
Seeing and admitting that I don’t deserve to be treated badly even standing up for myself  which was the hardest thing to do because it was my friends doing it to me. Knowing my limits and taking breaks away from people and situations I find stressful.

10. In what way(s) did you grow spiritually?
Talked probably about religion more than I ever had in my life. Nearly got tricked into accepting one from scaremongering. It’s not the right time or place if I ever allow one into my life.

11. In what way(s) did you grow physically?
My skin and my skin care routine was the best it’s ever been since before my teens this year apart from stressful times. I really love my body and surprised how great it looks sometimes. I have been a lot more stiff and sore this year especially with back problems and from puppeteering.

12. In what way(s) did you grow in your relationships with others?
I grew closer to a few friends even more than I knew possible. That it’s al right to let them in to help me when I’m broken. Let people see me at my worst. Was just honest with people more about how I was really feeling especially about my mental illness. Let people see that they upset me and would try to sort it out with them instead of hiding it.

13. What was your single biggest time waster in your life this past year?
Grieving for friends.
Depression.

14. What was the best way you used your time this past year?
Volunteering at a art group, Making art that is dear to my heart that can help others, Spending time with my friends and my family, Addressing personal issues.

15. What was the biggest thing you learned this past year?
That I should of listened to myself 6 years ago to not make friends ever again. It’s not worth the heartache when I lose them. But it’s helped me learn to try my best to keep the ones I do have. That stigma in mental illness and in the art world has a long way to go.

If anyone else does this to please send me your answers :)

Beauty Product review : Technic Nail Polish and Collection Blush and free Nail Varnish

Hey everybody thanks for all the lovely comments on the previous post I'm starting to feel a bit better. Been seeing a lot of friends again recently and went to a party the other night which has helped with the spirits. Finding it hard to part with money to buy pretty things tho and I'm not really sure why. It's kinda silly cause sometimes feel guilty spending money on myself and always keep in mind I need it for rent/bills/food shopping/art supplies first. I dunno other girls I've spoke to sometimes get this feeling as well or does anyone else get this feeling? Cause logically I know money you work hard for should be used to reward yourself every now and again.

Uni is just around the corner for a new semester and I want to focus on getting through that. I still want to blog cause I enjoy doing this so much and I love you guys as a community and friends :) . So I'll keep trying to keep up the blogging but going back to University will take some getting used to again ha ha.
Now on to the review!

The happiest being the highest and the saddest being the lowest.

I got these bad boys a few weeks ago and have had the pictures sitting in a folder on the lappy waiting to show you guys. I went into 'Boots' looking to try something new and thought I wanted something a little colourful to match the great summer we've had in Britain. Was running out of Blush so went on over to the 'Collection' make up which is a brand that's probably the top on my make up list in my head. (Don't actually have a list but hey maybe a future blog post eh?)

Collection Shimmer Shades Blush
BLUSHALICIOUS

I've started using this nearly everyday and it's the first I've tried a Blusher with more than one shade in the pan. Now this might not be for everyone but my skin is quite pale/fair and I tend to go for pinkish/rosy glows when it comes to blusher. And I would say it does compliment my skin tone quite nicely and does give me that little summery glow to my cheeks that sets the rest of my make up nicely. It is quite a natural palette which is good if your going for minimal make up but the shimmer also works if you were going for a party or night out. It does also work if you brush a small amount over your t-zone set foundation or to add subtle glow so in ways it could be used as a highlighter.

In use it doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all really and it doesn't get cakey as a powder but this might vary on skin type. Cause I do have a skin regime before I put make up on including moisturiser and then putting foundation on then blusher. (If this helps explain how it sets.)
It is shimmery but I find it's not overly shimmery enough to make your skin look quite glittery as I know some people don't prefer that.

Price wise it is £4.19 which isn't bad for the amount of product you get in the pan and you are getting four colours. So I would say the price is really good if your a student or wanting to try a new blusher palette and want to save some pennies.

The packaging is a little simple cause their is some gorgeous looking Blushers out there. But Collection is a brand that usually has simple packaging that's quite crisp and bold but I find their products usually work really well and have good results. But the packaging as well might be so simple so they can make the product cheaper.

Overall I do like this product and have enjoyed using it so far and think it works for my skin tone.
I would buy it again but probably more for summer time as it feels more suited. :)

(This is how it looks on my skin in natural light and now on to the cartoon debz heads ha ha)

Great penny saver and pretty positive product.

Collection Hot Looks Nail Polish

Top coat was technic nail varnish.

When I was getting the Blusher they had a deal on at 'Boots' like the usually do that if you spent over £4.00 on any Collection product you could have one of these little guys for free.
So already that's a plus about this little wonder it didn't cost me a penny ha ha! Was wanting to try a more delicate colour in nail polish. Their was also a lot of colours to choose from this range that was included in the deal which is always cool. 8D
I actually really liked using this it was quite easy to apply and glided on my nails really easily. It does do what it said's and dried very quickly and I enjoyed wearing it a lot. It is quite a sophisticated colour I personally think and isn't to eye popping to wear if your wanting to tone down your nail colours a bit.
The quality I find is really good and it didn't chip or come off easily like other polish brands I've used before. The quantity you get is just enough if your someone who doesn't wear nail varnish all the time like myself but could be bigger for someone who wears it more often.
Price wise I got it free which was awesome but it is normally £1.99 which isn't bad at all for nail polish.
Packaging wise it is nice enough for nail polish and it does what it said's on the bottle and I do like the name 'milkshake' find it quite cute like a watered down candy floss colour XD
Over all I really do like this product it has become a fave colour and I would purchase this again.

It was just such a refreshing change and can't argue with a freebie and my love for the 'Collection' brand.

Some progress and trying something new with beauty product reviews

Hey peeps things are slowly getting there my healthy eating seems to be helping out a lot and my therapy session went really well. Been invited for more appointments and they will be helping me work through my issues slowly but surely using different types of therapies so well see how things go. :)

Also been creative again and been trying out video recordings their may vlog posts soon. Which has been lovely just need to fix the late nights on the lappy and then we will be there!

Now I've been wanting to do beauty product review posts for quite some time now being inspired by other lovely blogger ladies on here and on YouTube. But I thought it would be more fun to do the reviews with little rating faces of myself. Since I love making things thought this would be fun.

Like so...

Offt not used Photoshop in quite a while.
The happiest being the highest and the saddest being the lowest.

So here is the product reviews.

Both products are from The Body Shop and were part of a beauty set. It was a gift so I got to try out the set for free which is always a bonus! These were a couple of the products I moved out to university with. Would use them nearly everyday and they did last a very long time.

Coconut Shower Cream

The shower cream nearly lasted me a full year and it was pleasant on the skin. It was a quite creamy and thick and if you like that sort of texture from shower creams.
If you like the smell of Coconuts it is quite strong when in use but not overpowering on the skin after a shower.
It does feel refreshing and that your skin is getting cleaner but also softer which is always a bonus. As coconuts or at least the oil are supposed to have positive qualities for skin.
Price wise you can get the bottle on it's own for £4.00 which isn't to bad considering if it can last for a full year. Their is cheaper shower creams but the quality of this one would be worth the price.
The packaging is pretty plain and simple as it is just a sticker on a plastic bottle. But this is probably because the body shop is for being 'green' for the planet which is something I agree with. So less packaging is used and made from recyclable materials.
Overall though not sure if I would purchase this product again as good as it was. This is just personal taste though since I like to use up products but then try new ones most of the time.

Over all pretty positive. :)

Coconut Body Scrub

This body scrub was included in the same beauty set and it didn't have a much product as the shower cream. But I have to say it for it being one of my first body scrubs ever used it was wonderful. Using it especially on my legs after shaving was amazing my skin were one of the softest and smoothest they have ever been after a good old scrub of this stuff!
The product lasted for quite a long time as well using just a small amount was enough each time. The grains in the scrub were not so harsh on the skin and their was lots of them making them great for exfoliation.
The cream texture was sorta thick but not as much as the shower cream and helped with making the skin soft.
The smell was not as strong as the shower cream either but was more refreshing and it did made me feel very clean after wards. I feel the same way about the packaging as the shower cream but the size of the product does make it better for travel or storage. Since the product came with a set the actual size of the product is a lot bigger. But this makes it more pricey at £12.50 which can be quite a lot for a body scrub. But on it's own in this size it did last a long time and I would purchase it again even at the sample size.
It does do the job and helped my skin a lot and even helped with little bumps I sometimes get at my sides and made them disappear.
Would recommend it to anyone wanting smoother legs or wanting little skin bumps be gone!

This is a product I did love a lot and enjoyed using it very much it's just a shame that the bigger version is a little pricey. This is on student budget terms though: :)

That was fun! Did you guys enjoy my little silly rating faces and should I try this out again?
And is their any bath/shower products your enjoying at the moment?

Take care
